Ministry Rarely Stays Inside One Room. Your Audio System Shouldn’t Have To, Either
Written by: RF Venue
Church audio has a funny way of expanding beyond the room it was designed for.
It usually starts with a simple request:
- “Can we put a speaker in the lobby?”
- Then someone needs audio outside for the church picnic.
- Christmas attendance turns a classroom down the hall into overflow seating.
- Youth camp is coming,
- the mission team is packing,
- the senior-adult ministry wants to take a program to a nursing home, and someone just remembered that the cry room needs a speaker—preferably before Sunday.
Suddenly, your carefully planned sound system needs to go places no one included on the original blueprints.
The traditional answer has been to run more cable - sometimes a lot more cable. That means additional setup
time, complicated routing, and taping down cables across doorways and walkways. Nothing says “Welcome to church” quite like turning the trip to the coffee station into an obstacle course.
What Is the RF PA Extension Kit?
The RF PA Extension Kit offers a different approach. It wirelessly sends professional-quality, line-level audio from your console or system processor to powered speakers or amplifiers in remote locations.
In practical church language, it lets you put audio where ministry needs it without pulling a long signal cable through the building, across the floor, or through that one storage closet no one has opened since the 1998 Christmas musical.
This time-saving, labor-saving system provides two channels of reliable UHF wireless audio using technology familiar to anyone who works with professional wireless microphones or in-ear monitors.
One transmitter can feed multiple receivers, making the system useful for:
- Lobbies, foyers, cry rooms, green rooms, and backstage spaces

- Christmas and Easter overflow rooms
- Fellowship halls and classrooms
- Parking-lot services, church picnics, and front-lawn events
- Youth camps and outdoor gatherings
- Mission trips and portable ministry setups
- Nursing-home services and senior-adult outreach
For church tech directors, the big advantage is flexibility. A temporary need doesn’t have to become a permanent cabling project or another item on the facilities committee agenda for the next six months.
For years, those of us in the audio world have sometimes turned an in-ear monitor system around backward to accomplish this task. The RF PA Extension Kit is purpose-built for the job, delivers higher-quality line-level audio, and costs about half as an equivalent IEM-based solutions.
The Transmitter
The transmitter includes two XLR/TRS combo inputs and operates on two UHF frequencies one for each audio channel. Simply connect the outputs from your console or system processor to the transmitter, select the appropriate frequencies, and send the signals wirelessly to one or more receivers. The transmitter can be rack mounted and has a passive passthrough.
Setup is straightforward, with no network switches, software, apps, or IT degree required.
With the included half-wave antennas, the published outdoor line-of-sight range is approximately 350 feet at the lower transmission-power setting and up to 600 feet at the higher setting. Adding a transmitting antenna such as the CP Stage or CP Beam can extend that range.
Actual results will depend on the local RF noise floor, antenna placement, and your church building’s construction because every church seems to have at least one wall built from brick, steel, and concrete.
Independent road testing has demonstrated stable performance through brick-wall obstructions, so the signal may travel through your facility better than you expect.
The Receivers
Each receiver connects directly to a powered speaker or amplifier, allowing you to place audio in a remote location without running a long signal cable back to the main system.
Because one transmitter can feed multiple receivers, the same audio can be sent to several locations at once. You could provide sound to the lobby, an overflow classroom, and a backstage area - all from the same transmitter. Additional receivers can be added as your needs grow.
Each receiver includes adjustable delay, allowing a remote speaker to be time-aligned with the main PA when needed. The receivers are also IP54 rated to provide for outdoor deployment.
For church integrators, the RF PA Extension Kit is another valuable problem-solving tool for situations where pulling cable is impractical, disruptive, expensive, or simply not possible especially in older buildings, multipurpose campuses, rented facilities, and temporary ministry environments.
Sending the PA signal wirelessly may feel unfamiliar at first, but it opens some very familiar church doors along with lobbies, classrooms, fellowship halls, parking lots, and that cry room everyone remembered at the last minute.
Ministry rarely stays inside one room. Your audio system shouldn’t have to, either.
